Welcome to MVPA's Website! Navigation throughout the site is very simple. If you can't figure it out, then you probably shouldn't be a physicist because you definitely will fail both in life and in Mr. Birdsong's or Mr. Trevarthen's class.

Catapult Progress - 89.34%

If you would like to help us out on our catapult building, please give us an email! Our next meeting to build the catapult is: UNSCHEDULED

Right now our catapult is nearing completion. We need to attach the lever arm to the horizontal bar, and attach a sling to the arm. Afterwards, we will be doing calculations in order to determine maximum range (under ideal conditions of course) and the best angle of launch. Any help is appreciated, so feel free to drop by!

The F=ma test is coming up, so the MVPA club will begin to hold practice sessions and tutoring for those who need practice and tutoring, respectively. It is recommended that Physics Honors and Regular students attend these tutor sessions, as we will be teaching you stuff you haven't covered in class (and never will) that can be found on the exam. This is important, as you will fail if you do not come.

Again, our attempts to build the catapult have failed. Luckily, we have something planned later, so do not panic! We will not be having any formal meetings after this, and meetings will start up again next year. However, the officers will still be in the room at lunchtimes on Wednesday if you need any help for the final. Otherwise, good luck, and don't be a bobo!

Yay! We managed to quantum tunnel the wood today so we could begin the building of the trebuchet. However, to our utter dismay, we found out that bringing power tools would probably be zero tolerance (=O). Therefore, we decided that we would work on the trebuchet in the woodshop room next week.

If possible, we also might meet over the weekend to get supplies and cut up the wood. More information will be given in emails, so stop being lazy and check your email!

So today, we worked on designs for the catapult and continued working on the practice Physics Bowl test. We decided to make a trebuchet instead of a plain catapult, because trebuchets would launch much farther, and it would be more related to our gravity unit.

Building will begin next week, when we'll bring the wood and other supplies. We hope to see you guys so we can all work together to build this thing!

We've been doing work for the Physics Bowl and things are looking good so far. A copy of the practice test we gave out at this meeting can be found at the Resources area. We'll continue practicing for the exam so come test week, we'll be readier than Comp Sci students waiting to write a program!
See you guys next week!

Welcome to the club! We hope you had a fun time at Club Day. And we also hope you did well on your physics test. If you feel you didn't, and you haven't joined our club yet, then what's the delay? Even if you think you did well, why not learn something new about physics, since you're so good at it? Join our club and you'll be rewarded for the rest of your life.

The site is up and running! For those of you overachievers who've somehow managed to get to this website, you can sign up now for membership! As, a member, you will receive many goodies such as free tutoring as well as more practice if you want. But come on, the point of the club is for the exploration of physics and astronomy (yes we do astronomy too). So you'd better listen to our insanely awesome lectures about quantum mechanics and relativity or ELSE!
